Project duration: 01.12.2021 – 31.12.2022
The launch event of the project will take place at the headquarters of Hidro Jepi SA in Bdul. Libertatii 90, Loc. Busteni, Jud. Prahova, Romania, on 25.01.2022, starting with 11:00.

Hidro Jepi SA is a Romanian company, founded in 1882, when it built its reputation as one of the largest paper companies, due to its geographical position and access to natural resources.
As a result of the market changes that have taken place over the years, the company has changed its main activity, from the production of paper to the exploitation of water sources that the company manages, water that is used for electricity production.
The project we are going to implement aims at expanding this capacity and exploiting the additional hydropower potential of the following water catchments: Urlătoarea Mică 1, Valea Comorilor 1 and Valea Spumoasa at the Junction Basin.
The need for this project is directly related to the potential to produce green electricity by capitalising on the available hydropower potential, existing on the eastern slope of the Caraiman Mountains in the Bucegi massif.
In response to this need, Hidro Jepi SA intends to build in this project a new micro hydropower plant that will use the hydropower potential of the designated water intakes, putting pressure on existing water supply and placing a hydropower group in a building to be built nearby. junction basin. The turbine water in the new micro hydropower plant will then produce renewable energy in MHC1 (currently in operation) located downstream.
The main activities to be implemented in this project are the construction of a new micro hydropower plant and the activities necessary to capitalize on the existing hydropower potential.
The project is funded with support from grants from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the EEA Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, under the “Romanian Energy Program”, call 1.1 Hydropower.
